Rajon Bhuiyan is working as a doctoral researcher at SnT of the University of Luxembourg. His research is part of the German Kopernikus project SynErgie which involves helping the German manufacturing industry prepare for future energy systems with demand-side flexibility. As part of his research, he is working on power system flexibility and the digitalisation of energy systems. Before starting his PhD, he had brief experiences working for an energy consultancy in Berlin and IRENA in Bonn. In June 2022, he participated in an energy systems workshop at Stanford University in California to present his ongoing research and its preliminary results. Rajon Bhuiyan earlier completed a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Bangladesh in 2016 with a specialization in energy systems. He then graduated with his Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters in Management and Engineering of Environment and Energy (ME3) in 2019 from universities in Spain, France and Hungary.
In his free time, Rajon Bhuiyan volunteers for the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA) where he is a management board member and the director for outreach and capacity building. In August 2022, he represented EMA at the 2nd SHARE ASEAN – EU Exchange Students And Alumni Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia.
