Dr. Guido Schnieders is the Director of the DAAD Regional Office Jakarta which is responsible for DAAD-activities in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Timor Leste. The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) is a non-profit organization funded by the German government with the task to foster academic cooperation between Germany and the world.
Guido Schnieders studied German linguistics, literature and philosophy and taught at universities in Germany, Hungary, Indonesia and Malaysia. Before assuming his current position he served for the DAAD in Jakarta (2004-2010) and Kuala Lumpur (2011-2016). From 2016-2022 he was Head of Section ‘International Higher Education Marketing’ at the DAAD Headquarter in Bonn, Germany, implementing the official German Study in Germany-Campaign.
