Ms. Alburquerque was the Humanitarian Counsellor (2019-Jul2022) at the Mission of Spain to the United Nations in New York, also covering Protection of Civilians, Children in Armed Conflict and Sexual Violence in Conflict. She held different positions: in Algeria, as political and cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Spain (2016-2019); diplomatic advisor at the Ministry of Interior of Spain (2014-2016); Consul in Libya (2012-2014); Desk officer for North America at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (2010-2012); and Protocol officer (2009-2010)
